Each year I visit the Outdoor Expo in Harrisburg PA. I am always happy to see the folks from CanCooker and to taste whatever they have cooking that year. What I haven’t done is share some of their delectable recipes. That changes today.


  • 1 lb venison roast, cut in half
  • 24 oz Abby Ale
  • 1 small onion, cut into pieces
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • CanCooker Butter Garlic Seasoning

Spray the inside of the CanCooker with non-stick cooking spray. Add venison and onion. Pour in the ale and sprinkle Cancooker Butter Garlic Seasoning, salt and pepper to taste.

Latch lid and put on medium / low heat. and  Cook for 90 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes.

Serve with liquid from the CanCooker as gravy. Add your favorite sides dish to complete the meal.

Note: You can increase or decrease the amount of ingredients in this recipe but please make sure to use at least 12 oz. of liquid.
