If you haven’t watched one of the parody videos from Zebra Corner starring “Mahk” you are definitely missing out. Mahk is a Boston accented “real” person who gets inserted into Chevrolet’s advertisements with hysterical running commentary. The latest one about the “most dependable, longest lasting full-size pickups on the road.” hits Chevrolet pretty hard in the reliability department. Just check this tidbit from the video description.
“Chevy Trucks lead the pack when it comes to dependability. As in you’re gonna need a dependable mechanic if you buy a Chevy. In this commercial, Chevy takes their fake focus group out in the middle of the Mojave Desert, unfortunately Chevy’s don’t do well in the heat.”
This video even has a nice Halloween scary movie twist to make it more entertaining.
The best part is Chevrolet seems to be doubling down on the “real people” ad campaign so there will be plenty more chances to get parody ads like the one above.
This is the best part of the video.
